1. Using StudentMate
These terms apply to everyone who uses StudentMate, run by WaaS AI. By creating an account you agree to them. Learners under 18 need a parent's, guardian's or school's permission.
2. Your account
- Give true information and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- Educators, health professionals, recruiters and institutions must have the registrations they say they have.
3. Fair and safe use
- No bullying, harassment, hate, sexual content involving minors, or sharing other people's information without permission.
- Tests and exams: supervised tests must be your own work. Cheating may be reported to your school.
- Do not try to break, overload or copy StudentMate, or use it to send spam.
4. vHelper, Smate and AI answers
vHelper and Smate use AI. They are very helpful but can make mistakes — check important answers with your teacher. Advice about admissions, funding (for example NSFAS), grants and jobs (“What do I qualify for?”) is guidance: the institution or scheme makes the final decision.
5. Health and wellbeing
StudentMate connects you with registered health professionals and support, but it is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number or a crisis line shown in Care.
6. Plans, tokens and payments
Prices, plans and tokens are shown in the app before you pay. Refunds follow the refund rules shown in the app and the Consumer Protection Act where it applies.
7. Content
You keep ownership of what you upload. You let us use it to provide StudentMate to you and the people linked to you. StudentMate's software, design and materials belong to WaaS AI or its licensors.
8. Ending
You can stop using StudentMate and delete your data at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms or put others at risk.
9. Liability
We work hard to keep StudentMate available and accurate, but provide it “as is” to the extent the law allows. Nothing here limits rights you have under South African consumer law.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Questions: support@waasai.onmicrosoft.com.
